Brand: We Love Jam
Fruit: Blenheim apricot
Source Location: California
Rating: Extra Addictive
This jam is like honey made from fruit. It's quite possibly the sweetest, richest jam we've ever tasted. We can definitely see why the mailing list for We Love Jam's endangered Blenheim apricot jam grew so quickly.
The first thing you notice when you open the jar is the fragrance. It's intensely sweet and heady. Not to get all poetic or anything, but the bright golden color and sweet aroma make us think of fruit that's ripened in hot summer sunshine. The taste is intense; in fact, we think it takes a little getting used to.

i will admit that that jam does look delicious, but as an apricot jam addict, i still don't think i would cough up $20 plus shipping on a jar. what i would do, is try to source out my own blenheim tree!

It sounds nice, but my goodness it's expensive....even for the luxury of eating a rare apricot variety. I hope that the increased demand for the fruit will help increase the number of orchards that grow those trees.

The most favorite jam I've ever made was peach pit jelly. You literally boil the peach pits for flavor and then add in sugar and gelatin. It's absolutely wonderful.

I made the plum/earl grey jam from an earlier post and it's so delicious! And was easier to make than I expected. Thumbs up.

It's worth $20 to us. I buy the smaller jars and the first one disappears in about two days. Then I ration the remainder. This stuff is heavenly!

This sounds good, but I bet it doesn't beat the home made apricot jam that my mom and I made this summer. Okay, I feel smug now.

Caitlin--Actually, I've made my own jam--which is great, far superior to commercial brands, and I love it--but this Blenheim jam is an etheral experience not to be missed. Expensive yes, but worth trying, at least once. Of course, then you'll just want more. I am sad to say I am now hooked and waiting until next year's run (sigh).
