Spring Pizza: Inspiration from Epicurious

2008_05_02-SpringPizza.jpgSara Kate's Grilled Potato, Gorgonzola and Prosciutto Pizza recipe from earlier today has us inspired. Pizza on the grill! This sounds unbelievably delicious at the moment. In the autumn we gave you a list of ideas for fall pizza flavors, and now it's time for the spring version.

While mulling over spring pizza combinations, we found some inspiration at Epicurious...

 
 

Here are a few of our favorite spring pizza ideas, all from Epicurious.

Tarragon Pizza Bianca, above left.
Asparagus And Gruyere Tart, above right.
Artichoke And Feta Cheese Pizza
Spicy Sausage And Gorgonzola Pizza
Pizzette With Fontina, Tomato, Basil, And Prosciutto

Artichokes, asparagus, and spring basil all make appearances. Also try plenty of light and fresh cheese. On the grill or in the oven these are all good picks for a spring supper.

I just made several pizzas for a small get together. The favorite was a semolin dough pizza with a roasted garlic cream sauce, carmelized onions, some mozzarella and pecorino, topped with fresh arugula after it came out of the oven. Although I cooked this one on the stone inside, I am definitely going to be working on the grilled pizzas this summer.
