We were browsing through some of our past house tours and kitchen tours and we were struck by how many people use yellow to great effect in their kitchen. Amber, for instance, really makes those number decals over the sink pop with her fresh yellow paint. You can see the before photo here.

I read somewhere that yellow also stimulates hunger, so it's especially well-suited for kitchens. I'm glad it's not all the same yellow I see in a lot of Tuscan-inspired kitchens!

Ah yes. Yellow stimulates hunger. Have you ever noticed many fast food chains all have, yep, yellow in their logos? (Example: McD, Burger King) And red. (for example, Wendy's, KFC)
We had Nacho Cheese on our kitchen walls. When it came time to sell our house, the realtor nixed it and told us to repaint it "so it appeals to a wider audience".. Loved the color!

Half of my kitchen is a bright sunny yellow, even the open shelves are painted ... and it was like that when we moved in. It was what sold me on the apartment in the first place - I took one look and was in heaven! And no wonder I am always so hungry in there.

When we bought our house, it took a bit of convincing to get my wife to agree to a yellow kitchen, but afterwards she admitted it turned out great.
