
We are not in the mood for canning something sweet, we have realized. That is the problem. We don't feel like canning applesauce - we want something hot, salty, or savory. We have been obsessively Googling pickle recipes, and of course Ann's blog is one of the first places we looked. These hot pink pickled vegetables are tempting - made with hot chilies and tangy vinegar.




Went to Little Giant on the LES over the weekend and noticed they had an appetizer called the 'Giant Pickle Plate'- it's a collection of assorted pickled veggies and sounded delicious. It's a nod to the famous pickling of the Lower East Side.
