Penzey's Is Coming To The Bay Area!

2008_10_23-Penzeys.jpgAttention, Bay Area spice lovers. That ubiquitous spice emporium, Penzey's, is opening their first Bay Area location soon, in Menlo Park.

While it's convenient to be able to order via the Internet, sometimes it's nice to go to an actual store. A spice store where you can walk in and smell every single spice sounds pretty good to us. We're excited! The new store should be open by the end of the month, and we can't wait to go check it out.

I've never heard of them before. Do they sell bulk spices?

That is good news. I moved to the Bay Area from D.C. a month ago and was totally stunned that, of all places, this area with such foodie pride lacked a Penzey's - the standard spice shop chain.

I loved walking in to the one back home and being hit with the lush, intense aromas and thinking of the possibilities from all those options. Yum.

I used to go to the original Penzey's in WI. Their spices are top-notch, much better than any grocery store (even WF), and not much more expensive. This is fabulous news for me, now that I live in San Francisco!!! Woo hoo!
