Yes, there is a World Nutella Day, to celebrate everyone's favorite hazelnut spread. In Italy, Nutella can't be labeled a chocolate spread because it doesn't meet minimum cocoa requirements. Those Italians, they take their chocolate very seriously. We should take note. But whether you call it chocolate, hazelnut, or just good, Nutella is in a class of its own. Here are a few of our favorite things to do with Nutella:

Sorry, but you forgot my favorite... a peanut butter and Nutella sandwich.

Is that a photograph or illustration? In either case, it's very good.

My cousin in Paris puts a New England spin on nutella sandwiches and eats them with Fluff when one of us Americans is kind enough to send him some.

here Nutella has too much sugar - in Europe less - it is better on the other side of the ocean

They serve Nutella at least once a week for "gouter" at my daughter's Montessori here in Suisse... Funny, how back home it was just fruit, veg or cheese&crackers at snack time, but here, it is chocolate at the end of classes just about every afternoon...

How long will Nutella keep? Just curious, I know this shouldn't be a problem, lol; but I was wondering.

One year and about 6 months ago, my mom sent me to the store for some crackers. While cruising the isles, I saw a shelf with NUTELLA.
I asked the girl next to me if she had ever had it, and she WENT INTO CONVULSIONS!! While leaning over her carriage (kinda to the side), she kept saying... "O....M....G!!!" Then she was like... "You HAVE to buy it! It's the BEST thing EVAH!"
I was cracking up laughing! So we chatted, and needless to say, I bought a jar of Nutella. During our talk, we discovered that we really had a LOT of the same taste in food. So it really took EVERYTHING i had NOT to open the jar (while I was in the car) and stick my finger in!
After I got home I tasted it (finger). O.....M....G!!!!!! It is the BEAST substance EVAH!!!!! It made me weep with it's tasty goodness. While I was crouched in the corner, with tears staining my cheeks, and my finger floating from the jar to my mouth, I sent up a silent prayer asking for eternal blessings to the Oh So Cool Chick at the grocery store.
I'm getting verclempt just thinking of my Nutella... the jar that is at home, waiting for my arrival, like a patient lover.
Just so my right index finger won't shrivel to just a nub, i've decided to try some of your recipes for it. I think I'll start with the Fluff and Nutella sandwich.
Thanks for the ideas and for recognizing such an AWESOME product!! Cheers for Nutella!!

My family is fresh off the boat, and my grandparents used to put Nutella on everything. I remember way back when receiving boxes of it from relatives in Italy because we couldn't find too much of it in Brooklyn. Thus, it is an important part of my childhood.
Nutella and chocolate crepes. Yum.

Nutella pizza drizzled with honey. Yum. Or I just put a cup of Nutella in the fridge for an hour, then eat it with a spoon.

Nutella in ice cream!? It always hardens and sticks annoyingly to my spoon when I try this... not that I really mind, but I'm certainly unable to "swirl" it in.
