Ever since Faith posted about the London-based housewares store Labour and Wait, I've been craving a nice set of enamelware ladles. But even if I could blink away the cost of international postage (not to mention the exchange rate), it turns out that Labour and Wait doesn't ship outside of Great Britain. So I did a little digging and came up with some substitutes that are available on this side of the pond.
One source for British household style is Toast, a London-based company that will ship internationally. Their selection is close to Labour and Wait in style and simplicity. Kiosk, a funky importer of all things interesting, carries a few of the same items that Labour and Wait does, namely the lovely sinuous coffee pot pictured above. Etsy is another good source for vintage enamelware, hand-knit cosies, and wooden cutting boards.

I can’t believe I have never seen or even heard of enamel sets like the Nigella Lawson one above. They are GORGEOUS – they are going on my wish list so that I can get rid of my plastic, tomato-stained, dollar store ladles ASAP.

Also worth mentioning: the ladle design, which is oval shaped, really helps in scooping up the last dribbles in the pot. They perform much better than the usual round ones. So yes, gorgeous and practical, my favorite combo.
Ditto for the Utility Canvas Aprons, which stay in place (for those ladies who experience...um, slippage with the upper part of the apron) due to their cross-in-the-back design. Pretty colors, too.

Oh, I adore Labour and Wait! I blogged about them a few months ago, too. Luckily I can just go the their London shop, but those are some great alternatives. The Nigella utensil set is gorgeous!
PS... I think Toast is based in Wales, actually.
