Easy Halloween Dessert: Chocolate Apricots from Sunset

2008_10_10-chocolateapricots.jpgHere's a grown-up treat for Halloween that looks festive without being kitschy. Chocolate-dipped, pistachio-topped, dried apricots that look like sweet little pumpkins...

The recipe is from Sunset magazine and is one of several Halloween-inspired recipes they're highlighting that don't involve dry ice, peeled grapes-as-eyeballs, or foods that have been dyed green. There's Cinnamon Pumpkin Seed Brittle, Coconut Haystacks, and Butterscotch Caramels, too.

All of them would be so pretty spread out at a cocktail party, and you can leave the candy corn to the kids.

They look really tasty and I might have to try them, but I'm not getting the "little pumpkins" from them.
