This time of year, bunny-shaped sweets and candy eggs are everywhere. What about something springy that can be useful after Easter is over? This Garden Patch Cakelet Pan from Williams-Sonoma is seasonal without being limited to one holiday.

We picture this being a more whimsical version of a madeleine pan.
The miniature vegetables would be sweet additions to a brunch buffet or child's birthday. Seeing as we're in the midst of The Hungry Reader month, we're picturing a Beatrix Potter theme... Peter Rabbit would have surely found these radishes, carrots, and cabbages appetizing.
We do wonder, however, how easy it is to ice the cakelets. In the photo, the pea pods almost look like they've been enhanced with gumdrops.
Is anyone else tempted by these tiny, garden-themed cakes?
The pan is $34 at Williams-Sonoma.

Very cute but I doubt mine would come out the same as the ones in the picture since they did a lot of dressing up it seems.

Yeah I read the instructions in the catalogue...Plan to spend roughly 6 weeks working everyday to get the results pictured.

Damn, I thought that was cute--too bad it takes Martha's Minions to pull it off.
