We wasted our money on a Magic Bullet (my wife insisted we get once because her mom used hers to make smoothies) so we are without a real blender.

If I want to blend something I either have to use our Magic Bullet (which is almost useless) or our food processor (which is tiny).

Needless to say I hope I win this...

This item is out of reach ($) for so many who want to start a raw diet, or who want to try some raw or vegan in their diet. It's the best, no doubt. I tried a kale/mint/pear smoothie a friend made in her Vitamix. Excellent, and my own blender could never do the job. Raw Boutenkos recommend only Vitamix, I think.

p.s. environmentally, the vitamix makes up for its electricity use in meals delivered without heat. It's an amazing machine. Would love to have one.

I have been juicing since July ....the vitamix would be a great addition to chopping up the green leafy veggies and other goodies for my juice! I would love this!

I just had to toss my last blender. In a puff of smoke and grinding gears, I killed another one. This last one was a black and decker brand one. I kill a blender every year or so. The black and decker one lasted almost two years.

With a chef for a husband , four kids under 10 including a 5 month old, do a lot of BLENDING in our house (drinks, baby food, smoothies, sipping soups, sauces, dressings, glazes, etc etc ) would love this!!!!!

You guys have no idea how great these things are. My mom has one and they make the best smoothies ever.. as well as shakes, and soup, and ice-cream. I'm not kidding. They are amazing and I hope to goodness I have a chance in winning one. :)

this would help avoid the blue-smoke-smell I get whenever I use my hamilton beach blender- which should be able to handle smoothies and soups but doesn't do too well :(

I think that this would be an awful way to make scrambled eggs...somehow I just don't think they'd cook, without which they wouldn't really scramble...but if the first guy who left that comment really wants to try it, I won't get in his way.
Personally, I'd rather make some awesome fruit blends, margaritas, etc...but hey - to each his own, right?

I had a vita mix back in the 80s and it was fantastic. I did quite a lot of things with it, including grinding up wheatberries and making bread dough from the whole wheat they produced. I made my own orange juice concentrate from organic oranges with part of the rind. It's long gone and I can't afford a new one. I really would love to win this one (as I know many others here would too).

these are THE BEST blenders in the world! They have them at my favorite coffee shop and they are the only way to go for blending smoothies and other frozen drinks.
