So, July is Grilling Month, and we're curious as to how many of you apartment-dwellers have grills of your own. Do you sneak one out onto the fire escape? Or do you have a little more space and a real grill? Tell us! And don't worry - yes, we'll cover alternate ways of getting that grilled taste indoors too.

I have a small picnic type grill but no place to use it unless I drag it downstairs to the concrete around my building. I use my indoor one on occasion, but intend to haul my other one outside and use it this summer. Hopefully this won't be a huge pain.

I am fortunate enough to have a deck, and therefore a small grill: http://www.flickr.com/photos/photonfiend/2601823023/
However, I've only used it twice, so I look forward to using it more this summer under the tutelage of AT!

I currently have lots & lots of outdoor space (I live in a small attached home), so I am the proud owner & user of a charcoal grill. However, when I lived in an apartment that disallowed gas or charcoal grills, I bought a Charbroil electric grill - it had charcoal "brickettes," to imbue the food with charcoal-y flavor, but was completely fireproof. It was fantastic, and the only reason I no longer have it is because I moved to another country... I still miss its convenience!

I just bought this one, and I love it. You can do about 8 burgers on the main surface, along with some veggies on the "warming rack". The legs fold up, and the lid locks, so it is portable like a little suitcase and it fits in my tiny space.

I have a Forman grill. I wish I could have a real grill-- it's just not the same.

We bought a Weber Gold this year and love it. We've used it several times a week since the end of May! I've even started posting a recipe for the grill every Friday on my blog and it is a great excuse to try cooking a variety of foods on the grill. So far our favorite thing to grill has been tropical fruit.

As an apartment dweller, Santa Clara Cty's new stricter fire code prohibits me from having a gas grill. I very much want an electric patio grill, but they seem to be hard to find. I'm open to recommendations so I can grill for grill month :)

KimberlyM, I got my electric grill at Wal-Mart for about $30; my sister has the same one and just loves it. The first couple times she used it, the food didn't have much of a smoky flavor. After that, though, the heating part got a little ash on it and now she gets great results. It's so much easier and faster to use than charcoal--it just takes a few minutes to heat up.
Now if I could just figure out how to put mine together! I am pretty non-handy and the instructions are intimidating me. :(

We have a big green egg in our small back yard and we love it!

As third floor apartment dwellers, we have the little Weber go anywhere gas. I works well, uses propane tanks for blow torches. It is a good size for taking it up and down the stairs, because we have had neighbors grills stolen when left in the building's "yard".
A nut in our building has a full size propane grill on the enclosed shared back porch. (idiot) I hope he doesn't burn the building down before we move in August!
I am looking forward to the day of having my own yard and a good charcoal grill. Nothing fancy just a big Weber.
