Grill Tonight: Sweet Potatoes and Yellowfin Tuna

2008_07_29-Grill2.jpgIf you've hung around this blog long at all, you should know that we are big sweet potato fans. They're a minor obsession around here; we've eaten them for breakfast, for dessert, with caramelized onions, and roasted-spicy. Now add grilled to that list, and you've got our grill recipe of the day.

That hunk of tuna doesn't hurt either! We're loving the idea of sweet potatoes on the grill - has anyone tried it?

That tuna looks very much like salmon. I've never seen tuna that pink before.

Personally, I don't think it's red enough! The best tuna steaks are barely warm in the middle, and a beautiful bright red!

YUM! Usually I am drawn mainly to pictures of baked goods but that tuna looks mouthwatering good!

I tried this last night (but with salmon instead of tuna; it's just too expensive) and it was great. I may have overdone the pre-cooking of the sweet potatoes, but they were still pretty tasty.

@squidlette -

I agree, that Tuna looks way overdone. 45 seconds a side does the trick for me.

What about the toxins in tuna? Also, I like grilled sweet potatoes better in rounds with a dipping sauce.
