Planted 4 tomato plants, two of them are heirlooms. I pinched off the buds a couple of weeks ago. I want the plants to get bigger before they start fruiting. Can't wait to eat them bad boys. The supermarket tomatoes are not exactly delish. Except for the wonderful Ugli tomato, which I haven't seen around here yet.

I planted 2 heirloom tomato plants, they have yet to flower and have not grown much since I transplanted them! I am planting them in a container so I think I might need to get some fertilizer (this is my first time planting in an all container garden). Does anyone have any organic fertilizer recommendations for tomatoes?

mariamercedes, make sure the container is very large for tomato plants. They will get very big if you give them enough room. Also, blood meal is an excellent fertilizer for tomato plants- they will grow like mad. Just be sure to follow the directions, as too much can burn them.

i have 2 container variety golden cherry tomatoes going from seed. they're about 8 inches tall, no flowers yet though.

2 redskin bush red peppers, still pretty small, 3-4", but they're going to be small in general. i think 18" when they're done.

1 eight ball zucchini is doing good, 2 flowers have bloomed, and it's pretty big. the other one, RIP, is gone. it didn't survive waiting for the self watering planter i had ordered (which they did my address wrong, so it got sent back and now i'm waiting for a new one), and there wasn't enough room in the current one. so it didn't get that big and all the leaves died. starting a new one from seed tonight, but they grow fast...
