We love these biodegradable dishes made from 85% bamboo (with some coconut and rice by-products) by artist Tom Dixon.

Here at The Kitchn, we believe in sustainable food as well as sustainable household objects (when possible.) they aren't disposables folks. i mean, they aren't fine china or anything, but they're meant to be used for a while. how many plastic tumblers to you have? how many of them will last forever in a landfill? how much does the earth have to pay for you to have cheap plastic tumblers?
