Maxwell and Chris are meeting Martha Stewart and Emeril Lagasse this afternoon. Martha's people just called to bump up our interview by a couple of hours, so we're heading up to her studio at Sirius Radio in an hour and we're still on a hunt for the best questions to ask them ...
We're searching Martha's blog for inspiration and can't get over this Peony Party. What an inspiration for dusting off the cake stands (even if they aren't perfect pink like Martha's) and getting together with some friends.
If you have a question you'd like us to ask Emeril or Martha, get it in quick!

HELP! I am seeking a recipe from the early to mid 1970's (it was the "rage" of local bridge clubs), when I was a teenager. My mother attempted it. My boyfriend's mother produced the PERFECT product. I have been unable to locate anything like it, I've been googling endlessly with no luck; and, it was DELICIOUS!!!
The recipe was for an "aged" all fruit topping (a compote?) that was "aged in a glass jar on the kitchen counter" and used as needed on deserts (as a topping on vanilla ice cream, angel food cake, pound cake, etc.).
If I am remembering this right, this topping was a collection of fresh pieces of fruit, some sugar, and an addition of some type of alcohol or brandy (I'm NOT sure about the alcohol part). I don't believe the mixture was heated/cooked.
The idea was, once the jar/crock was "started and going good" (initially a week, I think), this mixture became the founding base, and as it was used up, more fruit could be added as long as some of the "founding start mixture" was still in the crock... Again, I am not sure if any alcohol was part of this topping, but it was fantastic!
What I DO remember was that my boy friend's mother had a GREAT mixture going and it was delicious all by it's self (I remember sneaking bites out of the crock, sans the ice cream). I also remember my mother could not get her fruited aged compote topping to work out (it never tasted good and tasted like spoiled or fermented fruit). I remember there were peaches, cherries, and other fruits in it. Can you help me??? Thank you!
