Good Question: Help Me Find a Glass Water Crock

2008_04_28-Crock.jpgHello! I was in Mexico last year and saw a really simple and beautiful glass water crock (to hold bottled water jugs). I have been searching everywhere, but can only find ceramic versions. Here is a similar table top crock in ceramic.

Do you know where I can find a glass water crock?

Thanks!!

Kit, we also had a hard time finding anything similar to what you're talking about. The only thing we could discover was this site selling glass crocks. All of them, unfortunately, have pictures of dolphins and cows and flags and other images printed on them. The ivy version above was the most tasteful model we saw. Also, if you're open to not using bottled water and just filling your cooler from the tap instead, we really like this terracotta cooler from Gaiam, pictured at the top of the post.

Perhaps our readers have some more ideas?

Water Terra Glass Crocks, $25-$38
Gaiam Water Crock, $169 at Amazon

these things come out of every summer. try kmart, target, walmart, the drugstore, crate and barrel, pottery barn. they are usually called tea crocks or lemonade crocks or something like that.

they're ubiquitous in summer.

That is what I thought originally too, Lady J. I was going to link to this Cold Beverage Jar at Crate and Barrel, but I think Kit is looking specifically for a crock that can take one of those big bottled water jugs. That is harder to find.

There were some very stylish ones posted on Moco Loco a waaay back. http://mocoloco.com/archives/000101.php

Made by a Canadian company, whose website appears non-functional, but there's contact info here: http://www.mocoloco.com/archives/000102.php

If you purchase large water jugs, check with your vendor. My mom has water jugs delivered and she just switched from a cooler that required being plugged in and a monthly fee, to a crock that only cost a one time fee of $50...only downside is the water is room temperature. It is cute.

Yes, Faith is right. I am looking, specifically, for a big glass bowl with a spigot that will hold a smaller water jug. I've been searching and I found out that the company in Canada, mentioned by Read Delicious BURNED TO THE GROUND last year and have no plans to rebuild. :-( So, unless I want Ivy I'm SOL. Thanks everyone.

Crate and barrel has them. As of right now, Home Goods (marshall's) has them too. I bought one for $20.
