Basil seems to be a really popular answer, and I must agree! I would most definitely plant some Lemon Basil... I cook with it all the time and it smells and tastes fantastic. Chives, oregeno, and/or and basil. Would this work as a starter pot for bigger plants like Laurus nobilis (for bay leaves) or fruit trees? It doesn't look like you can actually pull the plant out easily if you need to move it.
