I've been thinking about one of these—I think it would come in really handy!! For pulled pork, bolognese, chili...I did a pulled pork in the oven recently and it just seemed wasteful to use that much gas...

So many things! First I'd make "Crockpot Venison" with mushrooms, onions, and root vegetables (my dad would be so proud!), then I'd use it just as a dutch oven to make chicken with 40 cloves of garlic (which will either make me the most or least popular apartment-dweller in my building), and then on to steel-cut oatmeal! Yes!

I had such terrible luck with the first one, that only by winning one will I give it another try. The lid is not heavy enough and allows steam to escape, thus negating the entire "enclosed-steam-moisture-cooking" concept.

But, that said, I will give it another try if I win one, and I'd make white bean chicken chili.

My french onion potroast. Yummy! And I'm so in need of one of these after I dropped my old crockpot a few weeks ago. Not only did I break a floor tile, but the crockpot shattered. It was especially sad since I'd just picked up the ingredients for some mean chili! Lets just say that would be put to good use in this house :)

Wow - this is a beautiful and versatile crock! I love crocks. Being a single working parent I find these to be invaluable in making sure family dinners are reality, and not just quick-fix frozen dinner or drive thu fair. I use them for everything - chili, roasts, stew, cakes, whole chickens, hams, desserts of all kinds. soups of all kinds! (potato.. chicken-noodle) I've managed to wear out 2 small crocks and have been pondering a nice large one.
