We break out all of the ethnic holiday traditions for the holidays, so the tastes that reminds me most of this time of year is honey. I use honey to make the nut and poppyseed roll fillings, my mother uses honey for the nut filling for of my grandmother's cookies, and my other grandmother anoints everyone at the table with honey for the Christmas eve blessing (so that the following year will be sweet).

A warm, custardy bread pudding really evokes the holiday feeling for me. It's a traditional family favorite. I suppose the dominant flavors in it would be vanilla and sugar.

I'd have to say eggnog, hot cocoa, gingerbread, hot apple cider, raisin bread pudding, pumpkin pie and all the traditional holiday dinner foods.
