Look! Apple Identification Day

2008_10_17-Apples02.jpgTake a look at this picture! This table is full of apples that people brought in from their gardens to have identified by experts.

Apparently the Cambridge Botanic Gardens celebrates Apple Day with a service where people can bring in apples growing on their property and have them identified. This must be a fun day for those experts - seeing a wide variety of old heritage apples that people are growing, perhaps unwittingly, in their back yards.

Do you have an apple tree on your property, or perhaps behind the house where you grew up?

Oh how fun. I don't have an apple tree here in south Florida, but I want a lemon tree. WISH I could grow one like those on the Amalfi coast with those GIANT LEMOND.
