We showed you our tiny seedlings this morning, but now we want to back up for a moment and show you the seeds we planted. We were fascinated by the range of sizes and shapes in the seeds we planted...
Garden Spotlight: An Array of Seeds
First up - the beets! They were are all knobbly and odd-shaped - rather like Grape-Nuts.
The cucumbers were exactly what you'd expect... cucumber seeds!
...as were the beans. They're just beans, of course!
The mesclun lettuces, on the other hand, were a mix of many kinds of seeds. These will sprout chervil, radicchio, arugula, and more.
And the radishes were tiny, perfectly round brown seeds.

Yes, there was a big variation in the seeds. I also planted mesculun, organic lettuces, parsley--flat and curly--oregano, basil and chives. the only things growing are the last two--the others got baked to a crisp by our weekend heat waves in LA.

Faith, I'm very excited for you. That Livingston seed mesclun mix is really really good. I planted it last spring and enjoyed an abundance of delicious salad all summer long. The best part was that it was pretty heavy on arugula, which is my favorite.
