Over at Book of Joe, they're comparing little plastic gadgets that clip to your pot and keep your spoon from dripping all over the counter or stove or wherever you lazily leave it as you cook.

How timely! This morning, as we left our pot of oatmeal to simmer, we rested the wooden spoon on the handle of the pot. Before long, we smelled a rather "pleasant" (MGR) woodsy smell. Turned out the spoon was beginning to char.

Gadgets are gadgets. If those dribbles of sauce on your pristine counters bother you, try these out. However, we're not sure if it would prevent the burning issue, at least on a small 2-quarter like we use.
