I'd make my grandmother's sugar cookies. Hers were light and flaky, and dusted with sugar on top. Orange zest gave the cookies some zing. No frosting; these cookies are flakey, not cakey! My grandmother died last year, and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get the recipe quite like hers. But I'm going to try.

I'm also experimenting with natural food colorings, like beet juice, so I can have colored icing without questionable chemicals.
