Grill Tools: Instant Read Thermometer Grill Fork Light

2008_07_09-Fork.jpgIs this THE all-in-one grill tool or what? We showed you grill tongs with a flashlight last summer, but this multi-function gadget trumps those tongs big time.

It's not just a grilling fork (to flip your steaks and drag pizza off the grill) - it's also a thermometer. And wait... there's more! It's a light, too, so you can see what you're doing in the dark.

Does anyone own one of these very impressive little gadgets? Do you think it's worth it? We don't usually buy any grill gadgets; our own tongs and fork are good enough, but this one may be loaded up enough with features to make it worth it.

What do you think?

I don't like fork-based thermometers. After checking the temperature, you have to remove the fork right away, allowing juices to be lost through the holes.

Instead, it's better to leave the thermometer in and let the meat rest for 10-15 minutes (more for larger meats) so the juices can redistribute, resulting in less juice loss.

Awww...one of these turned up in the White Elephant Gift Exchange over Christmas.

You don't need a thermometer, a fork or a flashlight to get perfect grill results.
