Here's one more tea accessory for these snowbound days. The Audrey Tea Strainer ($9.95, The Tea Table) sits on top of your cup with tea leaves inside, and you pour boiling water directly over them and the tea drains straight into your cup The little leaves catch splashes.
Has anyone ever used a strainer like this? I usually steep my tea a little longer, but I can see how this could be great for more delicate teas.

I have a tea strainer at home, but I use it differently. I steep loose leaf tea in a tea pot and then pour through the strainer into the cup. The tea is properly steeped, but the strainer still does its job of keeping leaves out of the cup.
That is the prettiest tea strainer I've ever seen!
I have this tea strainer & I love it! After you pour the hot water through the strainer & leaves, let it steep for a few minutes, as usual. The leaves hold the strainer when you're done with it, so you don't get tea all over the place.
This item doesn't work so well with fine tea leaves, as some of the smaller particles will get into your cup. But works great with the larger leaf teas.
There is a special someone in my life who is a tea-freak! I suspect they would adore this.
