We have a winner! Last post on this season, we promise.
Alll day long we've been hearing from Next Food Network Star fans. Most of you are thrilled with how it turned out. Others are still rooting for Jag, even though he resigned weeks ago.
We'll share some today's Next Food Network Star mailbag and we want to hear what you have to say too. Spoilers after the jump ...
We were rooting for Amy and most of you were too. We're glad she won.
Still, Rory was the big surprise of the night. In this final episode Rory said she moved to Texas -- not to land a cowboy boyfriend -- but to participant in another reality show, Country Music Television's Popularity Contest.
Rory "seems like an opportunist who's just out to be on TV,"said TangerineBeth in an email to us today. "Rory seems like a fake since she's already been on one reality show."
BJurg emailed in a different view: " I think that Rory was treated wrong. When Jag had to quit the contest she should have been the automatic winner."
It does seem strange that Jaq was disqualified for not sharing more details about his military service or education, but Rory's last reality appearance didn't come up until the last minutes of the final episode.
"Was it just me or did Rory come off looking like a bit of a sore loser?" asked JayC28.
Some of you are wondering why Paul got so much face time in the finale. Is there a future for him on the Food Network?
YumSugar called the finale a "weird snooze-love-fest" and that does sum it up.
Let us know what you thought of the last episode. And who do you think will win Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen?
Food Network has a show slated for fall that's about a pair of caterers in LA. Could it be...? On the other hand, it doesn't seem very fair to offer a different show to one of the contestants who got knocked off.

I pick none of the above. It was an awful hour of TV. (The part about the guys walking around without their shirts was idiotic.) Yes, no one should have two reality series in their background. And, there was just something bizarre about Amy's backstory video. I loved the part where she says she'd love to do a show about making gourmet food to take with your kids to the beach, and the visual is the kid chomping down on a chicken finger. Honestly, I wouldn't watch either one of them. I really hate to say this, but my girlfriend has been supposing all along that Bob Tuschman has a crush on Paul, which could explain why an annoying caterer who can't cook could get so far in this competition. Last night had me wondering what the contestants who'd left early could have coem up with had they stuck around longer.

Yay for Amy-- so glad she won, especially after that tidbit on Rory (yikes!)--
Amy clearly has the chops, and an intriguing communal lifestyle. I'll be watching!

The finale was, as it always is, boring until the last 90 seconds or so. At least Amy won, so maybe the recipes won't be "Grilled Fruit #476".
I have to wonder why anyone thinks Rory should have won automatically. It's not like she was given more competition, after all; that would have been unfair.
RiverCat, why would it be unfair to give a former contestant on NFNS a different show?

I watched this show and wow those chefs really impressed me. I found a great article featuring the stars and what they feel is most important in the kitchen. If you love the show...read it... i loved it..
