NYC Event: Cook with These Top Chef Contestants!

So, you love to cook, and you're a little starstruck, too... The Culinary Institute of America has just the activity for you. Capitalizing on the popularity of Top Chef, the CIA at Astor Center in NYC is offering a series of classes taught by Top Chef alums.

Click below for the full list of chefs...

The schedule was released before Stephanie was named the winner of Season 4, but she will be teaching on September 8. Season 3 finalist Casey Thompson is teaching the first class, on July 7.

Here's the full list of instructors:
Casey Thompson (Season 3)
Dale Levitski (Season 3)
Jennifer Biesty (Season 4)
Marcel Vigeron (Season 2)
Sam Talbot (Season 2)
Stephanie Izard (Season 4)
Tre Wilcox (Season 3)
Dale Talde (Season 4)

Classes are limited to 36 people and cost $195 each (wow). The chefs prepare a signature dish — right out of the Top Chef cookbook, which is included in your fee — plus some sides and a specialty cocktail.

There's also a Q&A, so you have the chance to chat with your favorite chef over dinner.

To register for Top Chef: The Class, call (800) 888-7850 or visit the CIA website. The CIA at Astor Center is located at 399 Lafayette Street.

I would say that a class with Jen would be well worth the cost if you would like to get an idea of what California cuisine is all about.

If anyone is a fan of the cooking at a place like Barbuto for instance, I would say that would be inline with Jen's style (in my opinion of course.)

And if she happens to teach the class during the summer months it would be especially rewarding as this style of cooking relies upon local, farm-fresh produce.

But who knows? Maybe she's teaching knife skills for all I know.
