Hooray for honesty in the government, especially if it starts in the fridge.
We were tipped off to a New York Times article about President Obama's more casual, laid-back style in the White House, and it mentioned his preference for this organic, fair trade bottled tea...
Honest Tea is based in Bethesda, Maryland, and all of their teas are certified USDA organic, which is important with tea, considering tea leaves are not washed (this according to the company's website). We also like the fact that Honest Tea strives to be fair trade and supports community-building causes in the US and abroad.
We see Honest Tea all over New York City (Whole Foods and most Duane Reade stores carry it), but, to be honest, we've never tried it. Once word gets out that the President is chugging it, though, we expect it to become popular (just like Sasha and Malia's J Crew outfits). For the record, Obama likes the Black Forest Berry and Green Dragon flavors.
In New York, you can order it from Fresh Direct ($1.39 each or $16.20 for a 12-pack). If you can't find it in a store near you, try Organic By The Case:
• $19.27 for a 12-pack, from Organic By The Case

though i don't drink it often, i love the stuff. the first nation peppermint and citrus spice decaf are so delicious and perfect for when i run out of iced tea at home.

The company is really interesting, we did a case study on them in University. I'm not a huge tea fan, but I do like Honest Tea (and the play on words is just awesome).

I like the tea but the problem is that is molds really quickly. I've accidentally purchased several bad bottles and haven't recovered from the ick favor. So, check your bottles very carefully before purchasing. Turn the bottle over and look at the bottom. Grocery stores aren't good about removing bad bottles from shelves and cold cases.

peach ooh la long! i like honest tea a lot, and if i'm out where i have no option but to buy something in a plastic bottle, this is my go-to choice. not too sweet, and they avoid that weird tinny taste a lot of bottled teas have.

By far my favorite tea. Moroccan mint and the citrus spice blend are great. there is sediment on the bottom, but mold? they can't sell it with mold--that's illegal. did you call Honest Tea? Whole Foods (or whereever you got it)?
Last summer, Whole Foods was out of Moroccan mint everywhere I went, so stock up on that when you find it next summer.

I did tell the manager and they took the bottle and let me get a new one (the WF was directly next door to my office--making a complaint and return much easier). I've had it happen at least twice, which is disappointing, but I blame the grocer not the company since I'm sure the tea was fine when it went onto the shelves.

I'm calling Honestea tomorrow. Mold or sediment? If it is mold, you have a serious, serious problem on your hands.
