The Cup and Saucer Collective

2009_09_09-saucer.jpgWe're enchanted by The Cup and Saucer Collective, a new kitchen and art project from artist Heather Smith Jones and photographer Rachel Saldana. They've just released their inaugural collection, a lovely and practical mix of kitchen items called 'A Quiet Fullness.' In particular, we think the Dollar Download Bread Card is genius! Read on for more information.

2009_09_09-cup&saucer.jpgFor one dollar, you will receive a pdf for the Bread Card via email. Once you print it out (card stock is recommended), you can fill in the amounts on an array of classic bread/baked good ingredients, allowing you to store the recipes of several baked goods on one piece of paper.

Now, this card isn't for the beginning cook, as instructions aren't noted. And, for the same reason, it's not for a recipe that you don't know well or understand. But for those of us who have a favorite bread or muffin or even cookie recipe, this is a fun solution. I could see it becoming my own work of art, hung on my kitchen wall or refrigerator door.

As well as the Bread Card, A Quiet Fullness consists of a lovely photograph/hand-pulled print combination which is the centerpiece of the collection. Also available are a set of letterpressed recipe cards. (Unfortunately, their limited edition, hand silk-screened bread bag is sold out.)

The artists involved in The Cup and Saucer Collective are interested in the handmade life and make as much of the collection by hand as possible.
