The Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market is held on Tuesdays from 10 AM - 2 PM and Saturdays from 8 AM - 2 PM. It's at a great location right on the edge of the San Francisco Bay and accessible to public transportation.

There's a large number of vendors there selling everything from produce to flowers, prepared foods to bread, fish, meat, soup bones, poultry, and cheeses. It tends to be a little on the expensive side, but even if you don't buy anything, the eye candy is wonderful, and we always have fun browsing - we often find interesting food items that we've never heard of before.

Before doing our browsing and picture-taking, we had a nice breakfast of lavender hot tea and a breakfast pizza made with ricotta, fresh cherries, and sage from one of the market vendors.

IN SEASON:
Strawberries, potatoes, asparagus, beets, cherries, salad greens, herbs, almonds, rhubarb, local feta cheese.

LAST CHANCE:
Lamb, citrus, apples.
