While in Napa last weekend, we visited the new Oxbow Public Market in downtown Napa. Oxbow is a large food hall where everything on sale is food-related in some way; from spices to tea, to wine and kitchen antiques, to fresh fish and chocolates, they have it all.
The Oxbow Public Market is a smaller version of the Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco. There's a large wine and cheese shop with an outdoors deck overlooking the river, perfect for sitting on while sipping a glass of vinho verde. There are several eateries, specialty food markets, gourmet stores, and kitchen/food-related item shops.
Outside in the parking lot is a daily farmer's market where Napa residents can buy fresh local produce.

Is that where the Fatted Calf is? Yum.

vinho verde? Green wine? Sounds interesting...is it a real thing or am I missing something in the translation?
Looks like a fun place!

It's "green" as in young TannerAdair.
It's a perfect summer wine. Light, refreshing, slightly fizzy.

Fatted Calf is just around the corner from the Oxbox building. It is located just behind Taylor's Refresher (awesome burgers). Yum doesn't begin to describe this foodie mecca. Hog Island Oysters and several other stores and restaurants will be in by fall. It's exciting for us Napa residents.
