Escapes: French Laundry at Home

2007_08_13-FrenchLaundry.jpgEscape at home. If you can't make it to a world-class, fantastically expensive restaurant this month, bring the food home to you. That's what Carol is doing with the food of Thomas Keller and The French Laundry. Taking her cue from the famous Julie/Julia Project, Carol is cooking her way through Keller's The French Laundry Cookbook and documenting her adventures at her blog, French Laundry at Home.

You can follow along with her there, and even attempt some of Keller's most famous dishes yourself. He has posted recipes for three of his most well-known French Laundry creations on his website: Parmigiano Reggiano Crisps, Lemon Sabayon–Pine Nut Tart with Honeyed Mascarpone Cream , and Pickled Oysters with English Cucumber "Capellini" and Dill - which Carol just tried out this weekend.

word. I was given a copy of that cookbook. I read through it, it's very beautiful, and I could only really conceive of making the staff lasagna. More power to her for giving it a shot.
