We're no strangers to using fruit as a table decoration, but this may be one of our favorites. If you've got a box of clementines, oranges, or tangerines and a vase, you're all set...

If you can find the citrus with the leaves still attached (we see boxes of clementines at Fairway sold this way), even better. The greenery makes it all the prettier.
We pulled out the candle that usually sits in this hurricane vase, dropped in the fruit, and tied a ribbon around the outside. It's a lovely way to display the fruit you eat every day, but it also makes a nice centerpiece for a winter dinner party. For dessert, put out some good chocolate bars and have everyone pull some fruit from the middle of the table.

Yes, putting colorful objects in a transparent container does seem to work.

C'mon Palmetto. I think these are great mid-winter photos and a fun tip.

Minus that bow, though....

I think it's lovely. I wish I had a vase like that.

We use fruit all the time is various glass or other bowls as table centerpieces. Some favorites are:
A mixture of lemons and limes
Granny Smith apples in a wide black bowl
Pomegranates
A mix of kumquats and clementines
Less expensive and more inviting than flowers in my view!
