Look! Individual S'Mores Bags

2009_06_10-smores1.jpgWith apologies for such a blurry photo (it was late and dark), we wanted to pass on this cute idea we saw firsthand at a wedding last weekend. It would be fun for a fancy outdoor dinner or birthday party—especially if you had theme-printed bags, like these. See more photos, below...

We realize this is more time-consuming and fussy than is necessary for a casual camping trip. As we said, this was a wedding weekend, complete with all kinds of paper goods (invites, napkins, cups) printed with the same logo of the beautiful lodge where the wedding took place.

2009_06_10-smores2.jpgThe s'mores were an after-rehearsal-dinner treat. We walked over to a big outdoor fireplace and found bags with three graham crackers (in case you wanted to go double-decker or one broke), two marshmallows, and a miniature chocolate bar stuffed inside. (Roasting skewers were sitting next to the bags.) Guests could grab and go, rather than cause a traffic jam around the table trying to snag a graham cracker while holding flaming marshmallows in the other hand.

2009_06_10-smores3.jpgWe think this is a great idea for kids who tend to eat four pieces of chocolate before ever realizing there are other components. Here, everything is rationed out and ready to go. You can buy the little paper bags at a crafts store and put stickers or write guests' names on them.

If you're planning a party—or, hey, a wedding—we think this is a really special, fun touch to end the evening.

Love it! That's the cutest idea I've seen in a while (without being overly cheesy).

I LOVE this idea. Even if one used just brown paper bags for an event hosted at home its a great idea for desert.

Fantastic! I know a bride who is having a farm wedding with a bonfire and such. I'm going to send her a link to this post!

We included these in our "welcome" bags for out-of-town guests for our wedding. Our venue (a beach resort) was peppered with fire pits so it was a nice little activity for them when they weren't attending wedding-related festivities.

Kind of late to comment, but we did this for our mountain wedding reception instead of cake. We had cans of sterno on the tables surrounded by river rocks to simulate a camp fire. It was lots of fun to see people of all ages making their s'mores.
