Look! Funky Picnic Plates from the NY Botanical Garden

2009_06_01-picnicplates1.jpgMelamine plates are such a great alternative to paper if you're planning a picnic. They're lightweight, reusable, and usually dishwasher-safe. We showed you some in our summer sale roundup last week, but these colorful, Andy Warhol flower plates are worth a look. See two more sets from the New York Botanical Garden shop, below...

Above: Andy Warhol Tacoma Flower Plates, $18 for four. These are only 5 1/2 inches wide, which means they'd be perfect for an outdoor cocktail party with appetizers but maybe not suitable for a big burger and potato salad.

2009_06_01-picnicplates2.jpgAndy Warhol Flower Plates, $24 for four. These are 8 inches, much more appropriate for a full meal.

2009_06_01-picnicplates3.jpgMelamine Picnic Plates, $56 for four. These foliage-inspired plates are more expensive, but they've got a nice, elongated shape that's great for a sandwich and sides.
