Holiday Baking: Bake-and-Give Pans

We love bringing quick breads and pound cakes to holiday gatherings, but struggle with ways to make them look pretty when we present them to our hosts. The folks at King Arthur Flour are way ahead of us!

This year (or at least we don't remember them from previous years!), King Arthur Flour has come out with a whole selection of bake-and-give pans, from full loaf pans to miniature cake rounds. They even have cute star and heart shaped pans!

Most of them are made from heavy-duty oven-safe paper, and they're designed so you can literally bake the cake in the disposable pan and give it away. No more fears about cakes crumbling en route to a gathering or forgetting your own metal pans at a friend's house!

We think these paper pans are much classier and more festive than the aluminum ones we sometimes get from the grocery store. Ranging in price from $5.95 to $14.95, they're affordable too.

I ordered the star pans months ago when I placed and order and I cannot wait to use them this holiday season! They are definitely sturdy and classy-looking!

I second bakeitpretty.com! I was thrilled to see their Star of David shaped paper pans. And they're the perfect size for giving away.

Or you could pick up some pans from a thrift shop and give those away instead. (I do the same with appetizer platters).

I purchased some from World Market to make some banana breads in and they cook at very different times than in a regular pan...and the loaves were a mess to get out and did not look as pretty.

I have the regular loaf pan shape of these from King Arthur and think they work quite well. You can bake in them directly, or they look cute filled with a row of cookies you've baked seperately.

I've also seen something similar at Daiso (a Japanese import dollar store). If you have one nearby, you may also want to check there.
