Bring An Edible Bouquet To Dinner

When you're invited to dinner at a friend or family member's home, what do you bring with you? We recently came across this idea for bringing an edible bouquet, with a recipe to use the bundled ingredients to tie things together. Produce is quite beautiful and it can be eaten and enjoyed when all the company has gone.

The pictured bouquets are done by Dutch designer, Janina Loeve. Her displays are quite beautiful and even if you feel a little under par when it comes to arranging flowers, most of us are far more familiar with veggies and could build a bouquet in minutes.

Remember to wash and dry your veg before crafting with it, giving it time to rehydrate in the water before making the trek out of the refrigerator to your destination.

What would you put together in a bouquet? Let us know in the comments below!

Whenever I see lychees bundled up by their stems in Chinatown, I always think, "hostess bouquet."

these are cute, but i believe they're photographed flat. I think it would be difficult for them to properly sit in a vase, but perhaps I just have to make one myself to find out!

It would be great if the bouquet has all the ingredients to make a specific dish.

This is beautiful, I can't wait to try it. I agree with delecson, ingredients that can be cooked together to good effect are probably most welcome. And that makes it more of a challenge. A stalk of kale, three white asparagus, and golden beet accent?

I like to give homemade butter as a host gift or Christmas present (recipe at www.slowchristmas.org)
