Why on earth would you put clean dishes next to the soil the herbs are planted in? For that matter, the dish drainer isn't designed to dry very many dishes.......Who wants this?????

me! me! I only leave a tiny amount of dishes to dry (i usually dry as i wash). Do the plants suck up the water that drains out?
