These Are a Few of Cakepainter's Favorite Knives

2006_03_21-cakepainter-kniv.jpg

My grandparents brought these knives with them when they emigrated from Germany in the 1930's. They are among my most cherished possessions and I love using them.

The large one was made by F. Widmann & Sons in Munich. It has a Bakelite (or similar synthetic) handle. Unfortunately I chipped the tip of the blade.

The middle one has the greatest small tooth serration - perfect for tomatoes - and a great handle.

The two little ones have dark wood handles (ebony?) and were (I think) part of a cake serving set.
