Silicone Hot Plates
Copenhagen

propel.jpgHot plates are useful if you're the kind of cook who likes to bring your gratin right to the table, but they tend to take up space and make a lot of noise if you drop them. Not so with these compact, lightweight, pliable silicone Propel hotplates designed by Danish designer Jakob Wagner for Menu...

I have one of these, my mother brought it back for me from a trip to Europe. It's one of the best souvenir gifts I've ever received. Only problem is you need two hands to open it, so don't grab the hot pot before you open the trivet (sounds silly, but keeps happening to me).
