Designer Jasper Morrison has just launched a new collection of cookware called Pots&Pans for Alessi.
Each piece is made from 18/10 stainless steel with an aluminum and steel heat-radiating base. They can be used on all cook tops and in the oven, plus they're dishwasher ready. Morrison’s distinctive lid design enables lids to be lifted, tilted, and placed with the use of any of his three coordinating Beech wood kitchen utensils.
Available at MOMA Store for between $55 for a 1.5 qt saucepan up to $195 for a 3-piece pasta set. The Wooden Utensil Set is $14. And as always, MOMA members get 10% off.

They're so hot.
From what i've read, they will be also be available at other online stores, like unica home, starting in June.
p.s. lids are sold seperatley so price isn't so low.
Pots and pans like this might be fun to date . . . but I'm marrying my All Clad stainless pots :-)
This lid thing seems a bit annoying. Wouldn't it be nicer to have a wooden lid so you could just lift it up, instead of messing about to use a wooden spoon?
I'm with Chris: sticking to my All Clad stainless. Jasper Morrison's handles and grips don't look very ergonomic from these pictures...
They look alright. Problem with shiny chrome is it scratches easily & if you want to keep it looking sharp you have to be fastidious polishing all the splatter marks off. Also, does the world really, really need another line of stainless steel pots & pans????!!!!! Every celebrity chef has their own signature line of god knows what now. Market saturation.
Each designer adds to alternatives what they have discovered that is not available with others' designs. Look for induction cooking pots and pans. All Clad is a fine product and quite heavy.
Polishing is a matter of choice. It is your kitchen.
