This quirky little pan is one of our favorite things in our mother's kitchen. It's old, deceptively heavy, and not multi-functional at all, but it turns out the hottest, most irresistible little corn sticks.

Corn bread made in a cast iron pan is downright delicious. It gets a golden, buttery crust on the bottom and just looks like cornbread should, softly nestled in its strong iron walls.
This particular pan, passed down from grandmother to mother, is really more of a novelty. It bakes tiny scoops of batter, so you're refilling for at least three rounds rather than popping in one pan and being done with it.
But the sticks, imprinted to look like ears of corn, give you a bit more crust, if you like that, and they're so easy to eat—like biting down a pickle. No crumbs spread everywhere over your plate. Perfect for dipping into things.
Ours is vintage, and you can find plenty of old ones on Ebay. But a few manufacturers still make them new. Both of the ones below are available at Amazon.
• Norpro Cast Iron Corn Mold Pan, $9.99
• Lodge Logic Cornstick Pan, $13.99
Who else has one of these odd little pans?

Aw, when I was a kid I made my mom get one once from a thrift store and we never really used it (didn't like cornbread), so it went back to the thrift store when we moved. Too bad, because I'm obsessed with cast-iron now. I hope someone is enjoying the one we gave away!

My mom has one, and we always loved eating corn bread ears growing up. Especially good with baked beans and hot dogs! I don't currently own one, but it's on my "look for list," despite the annoyance of multiple re-fillings. It is a perfect size for two people though.

We have one of these! It just never gets used because I hatehatehate cornbread. However, there are these sweet corn bread things that I love which are traditionally made in one of these pans. I've been looking for a recipe for them forever.

I have one! My mom gave me a new one for my momentous 30th birthday, this was after years of missing cornsticks from the pan she has. It took me a minute to get the hang of it: you have to season the pan well and you need to preheat it in the oven and then add the batter to a hot pan or else those suckers will never come out of the corn indentations!
