More New Le Creuset Colors for 2009: Black and White

2009_01_12-Creuset.jpgLast week we showed you Citron, the newish Le Creuset color at Williams-Sonoma. There are also new colors at Sur La Table and Bloomingdales, and we are rather smitten with one.

2009_01_12-Creuset02.jpgThe new colors are White and Black Onyx. Currently Sur La Table and Bloomingdales have an exclusive on the White, although it will be available more widely late this year. The Black Onyx is also available exclusively from Bloomingdales.

We are enamored of the black; it's glossy, dark, and dramatic, and we think it would show off winter food to great effect. White bean stew with red peppers, or beef shanks with parsley. Yum yum.

Black or white Le Creuset -- what's your pick?

Although I love the white I'd probably end up getting the dutch oven in black onyx.

It also looks like Le Creuset is paying attention to the no-knead bread craze and making the stainless-steel knob standard instead of an add-on!

Why must you tempt me with the black onyx when I just got the w-s slate 5-quart over the holidays?! Oh well, I suppose one can never have too many.

I am so tempted by these. Unfortunately I have a perfectly fine lodge enameled 6 qt dutch oven, and a little blue le creuset...darn it.

I have black... from years ago... and I have a white buffet casserole... from even longer ago.

Recycled colors, but they're the best. Beautiful and they go with any decor.

I am in love! I love the white. I love the black. I currently have some in blue, so either would be a nice complement to current ones. I was thinking about a larger size... (adding to wish list now).

I'm instantly drawn to the black. My only fear is it would look rather oppressive and unwelcoming...

questin - if anyone is reading this.

does anyone know why lecreuset has some in gradient color and some in solid colors? I have two one in glorious blue - all glue no gradient, and one in yellow mustard - solid. I have been looking for a RED or ORANGE or warm GREEN in solid and can not find one. What is the story with solid vs gradient colors
