Look! Better Batter Pitcher

2008_09_02-Pitcher.jpgOur only gripe about making muffins and cupcakes is the laborious ladling, spoon by spoon, of batter into the cups. We always drip and splatter everywhere, too. This little pitcher promises to make all that much easier.

This little pitcher has an extra-long spout to help you pour batter for muffins, cupcakes, cakes, and even pancakes. We like it!

There is only one significant drawback: this seems like a unitasker. We can't quite tell from the photo, but it doesn't look like there are any measurement markings on the sides. If there were we'd replace our old liquid measuring cups with these 30-ounce pitcjers.

i would prefer to use a multi-tasking ice cream scoop which works great for muffins and cupcakes and can help ensure equal portions go into each well.

I always use a ladle and scrape it on the side of the bowl before moving it over the muffin pan. For pancakes, I pour straight from the bowl since I like HUGE pancakes. Doesn't work as well for the small ones.

I like how they styled this by adding exactly 2 uncoated blueberries to the top of each muffin and to the decanter itself, who wants to bet the blueberries don't actually pour so well?

Doesn't that batter look kind of thin?

I like how the golden muffins in the background are in paper cups, while the batter is being poured directly into the pan. Sneaky. (Nope, I'm fine with taking it slow with a ladle. When I'm impatient, I grab my glass measuring cup.)

I made some black bottoms last night using the batter dispenser we got from our wedding registry on William Sonoma. This thing worked like a charm and was so easy to use. It used to take such a long time for me to dole out the 1T of chocolate mix into the mini cups but this made it so fast that I was done filling 72 cups in a few minutes.
