Icy Treats With a Surprise Inside: Volcano Ice Pops

2009_08_21-Pops.jpgWe never got around to buying a set of popsicle molds this summer, but now we have an eye on these Volcano Ice Pops from Prepara. They offer a twist on the usual popsicle molds; they have a hollow center that can be filled with fruit, whipped cream, or even — errr — adult beverages.

2009_08_21-Pops2.jpgWe like the small size and stubby shape of these popsicles, as well as the bright colors and easy handles of their molds. They each lock tight enough to be tucked away in the freezer individually, so you don't need to fill up a whole tray or find space in your freezer for more than one or two pops at a time.

And the hollow inside leaves lots of opportunities for fun; make a strawberry yogurt popsicle and serve with a little whipped cream in the top. Or how about watermelon popsicles served with a little vodka and some lime? These might make us finally perfect a recipe for gin and tonic popsicles...

Looks like less pop for your buck, to me.
