I haven’t actually used these silicone ties, but what with the upcoming holiday roasts and fowl it seems like as good a time as any to check them out. Spiceblog likes them and though I’ve been unable to find them very many places online, here's one source. I've also seen them in some local cookware shops.
I have noticed that skin and meat tend to stick to regular kitchen string and these do seem very easy to use. So far, my only experience with silicone kitchen gadgets is the Orka Oven Mitt, which I find unwieldy and useless for any task other than sticking one’s hand in boiling water. Aside from cooking crab and lobster, how often is that necessary? And even then...Anyone out there tried the ties? Have an opinion on this product?

I have indeed used them. They're GREAT. Thery stand up to very high heat and come away fast and easy. It takes a minute or two to get used to them but once you've used them you'll look for ways to avoid using string altogether. I have used them bundling asparagus, wrapping partridge in butter and bacon strips, gosh just about anything! Now they come in two sizes too! I got mine from AshtonGreen.com/ but I did see them at my local upscale kitchen store recently.
Out of 5 stars? A definite 5!
Since I work for an investment firm, I'd recommend highly as BUY and HOLD !!
I just bought a set for each of my daughters for Xmas, but don't tell them, ok?
funny you say that about the potholders/oven mitt - i think it is the greatest thing to happen to oven cooking other than the silicone bakers themselves - I love mine and use it constantly - also works well for tight jars that are hard to open and tightly screwed on.
I second Chris. I picked a set of these up a Sur La Table and they are pretty much the bomb. I am now on a quest for trussable things...
Mine broke with the first attempt at trussing a bird.
