The Home and Housewares Show here in Chicago is its own kind of runway. Some colors are in, like orange and vanilla. Others colors, including red and lime green, are showing up less than they did last year.
Our favorite color from the show is this limited edition titanium cocotte oven from Staub. This stunner grabbed our attention from a couple rows away. Can you picture Madonna braising away in a pot like this? ...
We admire the richness of this enamel finish. It has a depth and texture, something like vintage pewter, that can't be found in stainless steel or other mirror finishes. The finish is hearty; a finger print won't mess up the look of this pot. We tried and tried to capture the sheen of this cocotte in these pictures, but it isn't quite coming through. We'll post better pictures when the pan hits retail stores later this spring.
Of course this pan has all the same features we expect from Staub: the dark honeycomb interior and the self-basting spikes in the lid.
This is a limited-edition item, but if there's consumer demand for this color the line could be expanded. We told the Staub team we'd love one of their tea kettles in this color.

The third photo is the most accurate. So gorgeous. We literally gasped - all silvery and gauzy looking yet totally substantial.

Actually I would prefer to see Madonna braised IN one of the pots...Mind you, at this point the meat would be more than a little tough and stringy....

Was the Titanium the only new color Staub released? I was told they would have a new red. No? Le Creuset is rolling out their Dijon color that was exclusive to Williams Sonoma previously. Is that the new French color you mean? It's very pretty!
I would love Staub to do a translucent, creamy white with some of the darker grey iron showing through on the rings and lettering. Throw in a slightly speckled finish and it would be stunning! I love their highlighted colors most.

I'd humbly submit that our photographer captured it quite nicely :) It's a color that is better appreciated in person, it is hard to capture in a photo. It's striking.

The "new" Staub color is Pivoine red, being brought back again. Grenadine red is staying too.
