We've given you some ideas for creating an election night menu, but maybe you want to conserve your energy, or just want to stay focused on the returns. Maybe you just want to get out of the house and so something different.

There are lots of events going on around the country (around the world, really) in bars and restaurants. You know that we rarely cover restaurant-related topics since we're all about promoting cooking at home, but tomorrow night is one night when we'll understand that we all cope with stress in different ways, and maybe you just need to get out of the kitchen.
My local cheese shop, for example is teaming up with The Astor Center, a beautiful culinary and wine education venue in NYC for a wine and cheese pairing: six red and white wines paired with blue state cheeses (get it?) They'll also be showing live election results on their big screen.
What's happening in your neighborhood? Let's create an election night guide to going out (just this once) by posting your city then the event. I'll go first...

The Royale in South St. Louis City is hosting an election returns watch party, details here: http://www.theroyale.com/blog/2008/11/03/attention-citizens-important-information/ The food is good and the drinks are better - which is likely what you'll need most tomorrow night anyway :)

Ach... the local election parties feature bands, so I'm skipping that...
having one at home, and procrastinating starting the pre-cooking for tomorrow...
Maybe you guys could write an counter-procrastination post? ;)
