Farms in upstate New York, Long Island, Connecticut, and New Jersey that deliver to New York City welcome visitors. You can show up and meet the farmers, help out for a day, pick your own produce, or take a tour. The photos above are from the Golden Earthworm Organic Farm in Jamesport, NY, which hosts a CSA tour day.
Talk to the site coordinators at your CSA pickup and ask about visiting the farm — or check out Just Food's CSA page for a listing of farms in the area.
Have you made a getaway to your CSA farm this summer?

I would love to, but I've had to work every day that they've had a u-pick day or an open house.
Interestingly enough, I suppose I"ll get to see it on the television this fall. They wrote in their weekly newsletter that Friday Night Lights had just been filming at their farm.
