Bill Buford, the author of the new book HEAT: An Amateur’s Adventures as a Kitchen Slave, Line Cook, Pasta-Maker, and Apprentice to a Dante-Quoting Butcher in Tuscany, will be appearing tonight with Mario Batali and Anthony Bourdain at the New York Public Library.
Mr. Batali appears in the book as Mr. Buford's mentor and guide in the world of cooking. And Mr. Bourdain? Well, he fits in so nicely, how could they not invite him?
With three such strong, animated personalities, the event promises to be explosive and hilarious, and something that foodies everywhere will be talking about.
When: Tonight, June 21st, 7:00pm
Where: NYPL, Humanities and Social Sciences Library, 5th Avenue and 42nd Street, New York, NY (click here for directions)

I'm heading to this tonight. It looks to be alot of fun! I think Mr. Bourdain has become so tightly associated with crazy kitchen stories, you almost couldn't have an event like this without him ;)
I wish I could hop on a plane!
My husband and I will be there as well. Can't wait!
I wish to hell I could be there! Take photos someone, and live to tell the tale tomorrow!!!
i'm gonna try and be there too.

Thanks for the photos, jenblossom!!! Great shots!!
Yeah! I really enjoyed seeing those too. I have been reading - actually listening to on CD while I cook or clean - Buford's book. He's pretty funny. And Bourdain just rules.
All three of them were so incredibly charming. It seemed they were having a lot of fun up there, too.
anyone remember the name of the place they were going to dinner at that night?
